Dr. García-Gomar is a postdoctoral researcher at the “Brainstem Imaging Laboratory” in the Department of Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her interests lie in studying the brain anatomy and the possible changes due to Parkinson’s disease. Specifically in prodromal as well as advanced stages, when neurosurgery is needed. Dr. García-Gomar has been focused in approaching the study of this disease using Magnetic Resonance Imaging. She studied Medicine at the National Autonomous University of Mexico prior to completing her PhD degree at the Institute of Neurobiology at the same institution, with research into Parkinson’s disease neurosurgery procedures.
