University of South Carolina

Lynsey M. Keator is an ASHA-certified speech language pathologist and doctoral candidate at the University of South Carolina. As a clinical researcher in the Center for the Study of Aphasia Recovery, Lynsey integrates the fields of speech-language pathology and neuroscience to investigate the neural mechanisms that support human language. More specifically, Lynsey’s work examines the neurobiology of language disorders that result from a traumatic event such as a stroke (post-stroke aphasia), or neurodegenerative disease (primary progressive aphasia). Lynsey’s research program aims to improve diagnostic, prognostic, and prophylactic rehabilitative approaches to enhance outcomes for adults living with neurogenic communication disorders.
