Kunal Shroff, BS

Duke University School of Medicine

Kunal Shroff is an MD/PhD student at the University of California, San Francisco. He graduated from Duke University in 2020 with a dual degree in neuroscience and chemistry with a concentration in biochemistry. While at Duke University, Kunal worked with Dr. Nicole Calakos studying how the DYT-TOR1A dystonia mutation affects the integrated stress response in order to better understand the molecular mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of DYT1 dystonia. Currently, Kunal is broadly interested in studying the molecular signaling mechanisms involved in regulating synaptic plasticity and pruning in the context of both normal physiology and neurological disease.
