Justyna Dobrowolska Zakaria, PhD
Dr. Zakaria received her B.S. degree in Biology in 2006 from Creighton University and her Ph.D. in Neurosciences in 2013 from Washington University in St. Louis, studying with Dr. Randall Bateman. Dr. Zakaria completed a post-doctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Dr. Robert Vassar at Northwestern University. In 2017 Dr. Zakaria was awarded the Outstanding Young Investigator Award by the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation. In 2018, she was appointed as a research assistant professor at Northwestern’s Department of Neurology. Since her undergraduate studies, Dr. Zakaria has focused on the processing of Amyloid Precursor Protein in the context of Alzheimer’s disease.
