Chiseko Ikenaga, MD, PhD
Johns Hopkins University
Chiseko Ikenaga M.D., Ph.D. is a physician-scientist with a passion for inclusion body myositis (IBM) research. After the residency of internal medicine and the fellowship of general neurology, I completed my Ph.D. thesis of RNA sequencing analysis of muscle from patients with IBM at the University of Tokyo in 2019. After the postdoctoral research fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, I joined the IBM team of Dr. Tom Lloyd’s laboratory at Johns Hopkins University in December 2020. Currently, I am trying to identify new biomarkers of IBM using single-nuclei RNA sequencing of muscle biopsies and a xenograft model.
