Caleb Pitcairn, BS

Northwestern University

Mr. Pitcairn obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami, where he investigated mRNA binding protein regulation of axonal growth in the lab of Dr. Vance Lemmon. He then worked as an intramural NIAAA fellow in the lab of Dr. Markus Heilig with a focus on prefrontal cortex epigenetic changes associated with alcohol dependence in rats. He is currently an MD/PhD student at Northwestern University in the lab of Dr. Joseph Mazzulli studying autophagy-lysosomal defects in synucleinopathy using patient iPSC-derived neuron cultures.
